Tweeters
The design of our advanced soft dome tweeters allows unrestricted dynamics and a linear frequency response. These drivers are built under controlled conditions and feature treated textile domes, which effectively allow a gradual change with frequency from a dome to a ring transducer. In conventional designs, the surround of the driver and the outer edge of the driver membrane are moving in opposite phase and canceling each other's output at high frequencies.

tweeter assemblyDynaudio has undertaken extensive research into the shaping of these parts to ensure that the long linear excursions essential to high output levels are maintained without this type of interference. In addition, our tweeters also feature our unique Magnaflux cooling system. The heat produced by the voice coil is dissipated to the magnet system through a magnetic-fluid cooling liquid. The magnets are tightly connected with the driver's large front plate which dissipates massive amounts of heat directly to the outside and thus acts like a huge sink. The rear chambers of the tweeter are sealed and acoustically damped to minimize the resonance and eliminate high frequency distortions which could be caused by backwave reflections. That's why your Dynaudio will stay positively cool - even with the hottest stuff you can feed it.

The advanced woofers of our speakers are designed with strictly controlled dispersion patterns and significantly improved off-axis performance.

The Magnesium Silicate Polymer (MSP) one-piece woofer diaphragm is geometrically optimized for controlled roll off and low coloration. The flat membrane geometry creates minimal phase lag. And the glued and thermically bonded high-grade SBR surround ensures excellent power control and almost eternal durability.

In each Dynaudio bass driver, a powerful dual magnet system ensures 90% utilization of the magnetic energy. The vented pole piece provides additional cooling of the motor structure. The progressively resistive flat spider adjusts compliance at an optimum rate based on the driver's excursion, allowing for maximum mechanical control even at high power levels.

That's why a Dynaudio loudspeaker immediately converts power from the amp into completely controlled bass reproduction, efficiently and dynamically, with significant decreases in intermodular and group delay distortions.

To achieve the lowest possible moving mass, all Dynaudio voice coils are made of pure aluminum wire - wound in Dynaudio's patented Dynacoil technique. By this unique winding method, the lightweight aluminum coils are coated with a special thermoplastic material.

The coils are then processed in such a way that the coil expands and contracts until the wires have reformed into a solid mass of compact wire. Thus an extremely durable and stable coil is made, one not subject to warping and other problems commonly associated with loudspeaker voice coils.

Concurrently, the density of the winding within the magnetic gap is increased, as is the efficiency of the driver. Dual magnets are placed inside the coil to produce maximum utilization of the magnetic energy. This enables the use of a very large voice coil: Dynaudio's famous Magnum Voice Coil, which produces linear movement of the cone without cone breakup.

Phase response is smooth and uniform. The large diameter of the voice coil provides maximum efficiency and perfect dynamics plus optimum drive of the diaphragm and enough headroom with regard to power rating, while assuring total control of even the most minute membrane displacement. That's why your Dynaudio will touch you up to fifty-thousand times per second.
