We don't want to cause you any undue panic. But with some boxes, it's not their entire output that's acoustic. And if a piece of music takes your breath away, it may not only be the sound that does it. Quite a few box speakers, whether turned out on an assembly line or put together by an ill- informed amateur, are internally damped with mineral fiber or other essentially un-Danish materials! Through the bass reflex opening, every note will push out some very small particles (<2 +m) into the surrounding air. Which is the air that you breathe. At least in laboratory experiments, some of those fibers have been proven to be just as unpleasant as asbestos.
It should not surprise you then, that those famous loudspeakers from Skanderborg are internally damped using a substance which may cost twenty times as much as those dubious materials, but which has been proven to show a perfectly neutral behavior towards ears, noses and other vital body parts. Good Danish tradition, that. We try to look after our customers by looking ahead. Because we want you to enjoy our speakers for a long time.
More than skin deep
The final choice of finish is up to you, but with beech, bird's eye maple, black ash, cherry, rosewood, walnut and both black and white lacquers on offer, we suspect that your decision on which you would like might take some time. With all these choices, allow us to set your mind ease with the knowledge that there are no endangered or rain forest woods used in the construction of our products. So go ahead, choose the cherry, or the rosewood; maybe the birds eye maple; no, no, the black ash
Stuck on you
Nontoxic glues should be normal in an environment where humans, and not machines, are working. To this aim, every Dynaudio loudspeaker is craftsman made with a glue personally developed by Hugo Nielssen, which consists exclusively of natural substances. Our method is as time-consuming as it is exacting, but it serves to reach two goals: That our loudspeakers retain their healthy sound for a long time. And that our employees remain healthy for a long time.
