Dynaudio, long associated with the highest level of speaker-building, is proud to introduce a completely new edition of its highly successful Audience Series Loudspeakers. Dynaudio has completely retooled its popular Audience series, enhancing the esthetics, broadening their applications and improving the loudspeakers' performance. Recognizing that price is part of the hi-fi equation, especially for younger enthusiasts whose pockets may not be as deep as their aspirations, Dynaudio has worked to ensure that the new Audiences offer real value while providing a sensible upgrade path that will enable Dynaudio customers to stay with the brand for many years to come.

The new Audience series comprises a complete range of loudspeaker models, beginning with bookshelf models and floor standing towers, complemented by additional models designed for Home Theater and lifestyle applications; in particular, the new, compact Audience 42C Center, and the new shallow-depth, front-ported Audience 42W wall-mount main/surround speakers.

Each speaker in the new Audience series has been developed to Dynaudio's exacting specifications and features the state-of-the-art driver technology for which Dynaudio is renowned. The drivers incorporated into the Audience series are not standard, off-the-shelf drivers; rather, they are proprietary designs developed specifically for the models into which they are being utilized. Parameters are adjusted for not only the specific enclosure but also for optimum synergy between all drivers to be included in each design. The Audience series' woofers are built to Dynaudio's exacting standards. Despite a remarkable value-for-dollar ratio, Dynaudio has used only the highest quality components, cutting no corners and leaving nothing to chance.

Drivers feature large, 75-mm diameter lightweight aluminium voice coils for maximum efficiency, greater control of the diaphragm and maximum power handling and dynamics with minimum cone break-up. The one-piece MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) molded woofer diaphragm cones offer significant decreases in intermodular and group delay distortions. The Audience line's proprietary, design specific 28-mm soft-dome tweeters utilize a special magnetic fluid to provide exceptional power handling and damping, offering clear, detailed sound reproduction across the entire frequency range. The 4-mm diecast front plates offer maximum stiffness while also acting like a heat sink, while vented pole pieces and damped rear chambers deliver excellent transient response. Systems are subject to no less than 86 quality control tests, each speaker is covered by Dynaudio's 5-year limited warranty.

Dynaudio has paid particular attention to the look of the speakers, maintaining cabinet designs that incorporate rounded front baffle corners with a contemporary front grille. All floor-standing models are fitted with provision to store the grilles on the back of the speaker cabinet should one choose to listen without the grilles in place. Consumers can choose among four stunning finishes - Cherry, Maple, Rosewood, and Black Ash high quality real wood veneers. Floor-standing models feature taller, slimline cabinets and are now all front-ported for ease of positioning, regardless of application, be it stereo or surround. All cabinets are bitumen damped and feature extensive cross bracing for maximum stability, thus eliminating any cabinet related coloration.

Low-frequency performance is guaranteed by a bass reflex port with trumpet-shaped openings for ehanced airflow and reduced turbulence at high power. To adjust bass output, the port can be fitted with a foam plug supplied with each speaker, an important consideration if one of the compact, rear-ported models is to be positioned on a bookshelf or against a back wall where the bass response will be boosted. An updated, redesigned crossover ensures that all models offer improved performance over their predecessors as well. Only the highest caliber components are used in the Audience series crossovers, which have been designed to afford the type of power handling normally expected from more expensive systems. Each componet in the filter is glued and inductors are cable-tied to the circuit board to secure high performance results. For efficient production and the shortest possible current path, the filter is attached to an insulated speaker terminal supported with gold-plated sockets for a solid, steady connection to speaker cables or plugs.

The new Audience models bring true high-end Dynaudio quality and incredible value to an even broader audience base, with no compromise in performance in either music or Home Theater applications.
