The deeper the frequency, the higher the demands. With the brand new Dynaudio Audience SUB-30A subwoofer, this is definitely the case. The Audience SUB-30A is actively powered by by hand-built amplifiers to increase efficiency and improve output levels while still maintaining excellent sonic performance levels. When used in a stereo set-up, sub-woofers not only improve the low frequency response and volume of the main speakers, but also extend their life-span by taking some of the stress away from their drivers. However, it is the home theater environment the really benefits form all that additional bass, which is why Dynaudio has introduced Utility Link, a unique device that makes it possible to combine two or more sub woofers in a multi-channel audio system. Actively powered by hand-built amplifiers that were designed specifically in conjunction with the woofers, they provide optimum performance, maximum driver excursion, increased efficiency and maximum output levels with extremely low distortion from a small enclosure volume. The adjustable phase, 360º phase shift control guarantees optimum phase alignment with any audio system, allowing a perfect blend to the main speakers. The Dynaudio variable low pass filter/adjustable crossover frequency control (between 60-120 Hz) enables optimum transition from the subwoofer to the point where the main speakers roll off, while a subsonic filter prevents rumble, distortion or overload which could be caused by otherwise inaudible signals. The thermal protection circuit offers additional protection against thermal overload, and the adjustable output level control provides precise matching of the subwoofer's output to that of any audio system. The custom designed and built Dynaudio drivers, a 12" woofer with a 4" voice coil in the SUB-30A, sacrifice nothing in terms of musicality. The unique one-piece molded diaphragms, hand-made from magnesium silicate polymer, ensure perfect resonance control and truly impressive sonic performance. After all, unlimited dynamic range, reduced distortion, and natural, powerful low frequency reproduction have always been part of the Dynaudio experience, a part which has now been extended into the lowest realms of bass by these subwoofers. Dynaudio's utility link makes it possible to combine two subwoofers in a multi-channel audio system, allowing for complete flexibility in audio/video system setups. With three inputs on each SUB, up to six channels may be summed into one (mono) subwoofer channel. In addition to its sonic performance, the Audience SUB-30A may also be used as a CTV-stand. |
