IP-24For years Dynaudio has been asked to provide an in-wall solution, assuming that the company’s drivers could simply be mounted into an assembly and a product could be born. But that is not in tune with Dynaudio’s qualitative philosophy, so rather that taking a simplified approach that in all essence would undermine the inherent quality of the company’s conventional application drivers, the Dynaudio’s engineers spent an exhaustive amount of time in research and development to create new driver topologies specifically for architectural applications to produce the finest in-wall loudspeaker available.

In order to achieve these goals, entirely new drivers would need to be developed; drivers capable of performing at a very high level of quality in the severely compromised acoustic environment of an infinite baffle, wall mount application. Drivers that wouldn’t be compromised by the absence of or necessarily be dependent upon an enclosure. Likewise, a mounting assembly devoid of resonance would be critical in order to achieve a pristine result. Of equal importance, the end result would need to be unobtrusive visually, easy to install, and built to last.

Conventional in-wall products which most audio companies market usually require enclosures to enhance the bass performance, and most likely simply can not reproduce any low bass – typically because they are using conventional driver technologies which are not at all suited to this application. In contrast, Dynaudio has developed custom-built drivers to achieve optimized performance in the given parameters of the in-wall mounting application (typically infinite baffle or free air), delivering crisp, clean highs, a naturally balanced midrange with incredibly deep bass performance and unlimited dynamics – a sonic character that will instantly be recognized as that of a true Dynaudio.

In typical Danish fashion, Dynaudio in-wall loudspeakers are built to last, and set new standards in terms of ease of installation. They can be installed simply and quickly, without the need of any mounting rings or accessory brackets typically in just a matter of 1 or 2 minutes to install once the mounting hole has been cut into the drywall. Grilles and aluminum frame may be painted as well, thus allowing complete flexibility for perfect integration into any particular room’s color scheme or décor.

Dynaudio is currently the only company providing an in-wall solution at this level of quality and engineering.
